Summer Filming Nearly Complete!
Summers almost over and the Fly Rod Chronicles crew has been logging up the frequent flyer miles and burning up tape as we captured some of our best action ever. Check out just a few of the details of our monumental summer trek across the U.S. below:
|
| Gourmet Fly Fishing
The Fly Rod Chronicles Crew was spoiled with pristine fishing, gourmet meals and homespun country music as we ran through the beautiful canyons on the Deschutes in Oregon with David Renton and his incredible family of www.gourmetflyfishing.com!
We were joined by special guests country music songwriter of the year Sam Tate and Chairman of Project Healing Waters, Douglas Dear. We had the honor of being escorted down the river by the legendary Dean of the Deschutes Mike McLucas and his son-in-law Mark Malefyt.
A picturesque adventure we will never forget! |

The Umpqua
It was a battle of wills between Curtis and a powerful Oregon steelhead when we fished the legendary North Umpqua with guide Tony Wratney of Summer Run and 16 year-old Dylan Renton!
We explore the runs and holes that were once called home by storied anglers like Zane Grey and Hemingway.

| Curtis and the Riverbum.com crew. |
|
| Riverbum.com Crew
It was a fly fishing fantasy camp when we hooked up with the crew from Riverbum.com and Falcons Ledge for a fish-off at Dave Ludlows Crystal Ranch in Utah.
Curtis scored a grand slam by landing wild rainbows, cutthroats, brookies and browns all in one amazing stream running through the Uinta mountains.

Wilderness Access
We had a great time fishing the Deer Creek Reservoir with Dale Coryell of the Moscow Fly Shop in Idaho! Despite being a little early this year on the run-off swollen St.Joe River,we had plenty of cuttroat action at the mouths of the tributaries of Marble and Slate Creeks.
Check out the versatile Access EXP rafts we used on our trip here; Wilderness Access .

Spotted Horse Ranch
In late May we returned to our home away from home at The Spotted Horse Ranch in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Our reunion with Hunter, Kevin, Landon and the rest of the crew was jam packed with Browns, Cutthroats and a spring bear hunt. Along with our guest Paul Salomon and guide Derek Thompson, Curtis took his first color phased blonde bear.
