Greg Hall Pro Staff
My wife Karen of 33 years and our two British Laboradors- Ginger and Lilly, live in Putnam County, West Virginia. We have two fantastic daughters, Kristin and Andrea (both married)and one granddaughter, Madison. Their families live nearby.
Growing up our family went camping, which opened up my love for the outdoors. My father was an avid hunter and fisherman.

He started me fishing by giving me his old backup bamboo fly rod. In his wisdom a fly line would
be easier to untangle than a "bird nest" in an open-faced spinning reel. Following my Father's technique, I
decorated the leader with a fly of some kind, a salmon egg, sinker, and a worm. WOW, the trout we caught on Cranberry River! Occasionally I would catch two trout at one time. Almost heaven!
Next , on to college! Marshall University was my choice and I graduated with a degree in Medical Technology.
This was during the era of the Marshall University football team plane crash. ie the basis for the movie:"WE ARE MARSHALL". I lost many friends that day. This started my 35 years of working in healthcare.Later on I picked up another batchelor's degree in nursing. During this period I added many hobbies to my portfolio: hunting, kayaking, hiking, carving, and skiing to name a few.
Through volunteering as an instructor at West Virginia's Trout Unlimited Fly Fishing School I met Curtis
Fleming. Curtis talked a pretty interesting hunting and fishing scenerio of his past and had an interest in
fishing some of my favorite streams. At this point it seemed like we could match schedules, started fly fishing together , and became the best of friends. Although life may hand out many difficult situations to everyone, you could not have a better friend. This also applies to the crew of Fly Rod Chronicles and their families!
